Sending Transcripts/Courses in-progress

Post by newyorkrose » Fri May 01, 2015 1:17 am

Hello!
I was wondering if someone could answer a question I have regarding when to submit an application. I'm currently completing my last spring semester of undergrad. I am taking a few prerequisites courses (including one repeat course) this summer. Two of the courses will complete at the beginning of July. Two of them, however, won't be completed until mid-August, one being Biochemistry and one Anatomy Lab. I wanted to submit my application no later than the beginning of July (after the completion of the first two classes). As long as I specify that my courses are "in progress" on CASPA, does it matter which courses are in progress? I know certain schools want all prereqs completed by the deadline (the majority of the schools I'm applying to are due by September, so this won't be a problem) and/or only two or three prereqs marked as planned on the application.

Does having certain courses in progress make an applicant not stand out as much? Do schools wait to see the grade to assess the applicant even if the transcript has been submitted to CASPA? Do I submit my transcript with the completed grades to the schools in question immediately after my courses are complete? Should I wait to submit my application until all grades have been reported on my transcript? This, however, worries me, especially with a lot of schools having rolling admissions...

Any advice would be great! Thanks!
