Good morning,
First off thank you for this forum and website. I have been a nervous wreck and your page has provided comfort. I have a question regarding my major change. early in m college career I changed majors from biology to psychology. I did it for 2 reasons: 1) i was thinking of going into psychiatry (for about 2 semesters) 2) i was told by a pharmacy student that having a major other then biology can help in an application process (i still kick myself for this one) but anyways I switched but still took all the prerequisite science classes initially for pharmacy school. Once i graduated i didn't want to do pharmacy and now 5 years later im here applying for PA school. Should i address this major change in my essay?
And one more thing. I took anatomy and physiology part one and got a B. I didn't take the second part until this year, but because it had been a while since i had taken the first part,so i just took both parts together and got A's in both. Is this something I should address in my essay as well?
Thanks again!
major change
Re: major change
I would only address the change of major in your application if it helps explain something major, such as a change in the grades you were getting.
I wouldn't bother explaining the anatomy and physio thing - you got your A's and that's all that needs to be said.
