Hello everyone.
I have been accepted as a transfer student to Cal Poly Pomona as a Kinesiology major and Azusa Pacific's Applied Health, emphasis Physician Assistant major. I accepted Azusa Pacific and am now doubting if I should. I still have time, so please any advice would be appreciated.
Now, if I continue through Azusa Pacific, I can minor in Biology or as I was originally planning, Philosophy, which is an interest of mine. I can minor in both, but don't want to spend too much time in school. Should I just stick to Biology as a minor? What weight does a minor carry? Is it something that is taken into account for PA school?
I greatly appreciate your time and advice in advance.
Major and Minor
Re: Major and Minor
My personal, humble opinion?
You don't need to be only interested medicine to become a PA. I actually think that people who major in physician assistant and nothing else tend to look a little boiler plate - boring, if you will.
No, I think you should minor in philosophy. It will be useful when you get to legal and ethical implications of medicine, and it just might make you a more well-rounded person, and that's nothing to sneeze at.
