Best PA School for surgical specialty

Yes, PAs can specialize. About half of them don't (they work in primary care). Here's the place to ask and answer about specialties and specialization.

Best PA School for surgical specialty

I was wondering if anyone knows of any PA schools with a focus or track to specialize in Surgery. Currently, I'm located in Northern CA and am looking to apply to Samuel Merritt, UC Davis, and Stanford. I know Stanford and Davis are geared mainly toward primary care? Any guidance / advice? Relocation is not out of the question. :-D - Jen

Mostly the surgeon assistant programs are offered at the graduate degree level. There are very few programs which require the applicants to have bachelor\'s degree in nursing, allied health or a related field. Also some programs may require additional requirement of work experience in the health care field. Such kinds of experience are preferred during the admission procedures. UAB school of health profession and medical college of Cornell university have some really good surgical assistant programs.
