is there a way to gently put into your statement that you are in recovery from drugs and alcohol. for me it's a big part of my story of wanting to be a pa. I work in a rehab, shadow pa's at the same one...and want to work in this field upon graduation. it would also explain a few c's and d's in my undergrad. I still came out with a 3.0 and made A's in all A&P classes as well as biology.
does anyone have experience with this or have any ideas on how to disclose thus while still staying professional.
THANKS!

Hi NCPA,
Firstly, I would like to congratulate you on your recovery and ongoing sobriety. Since these things are a major part of your story, I think that it should be included into your essay. I do not think you need to go into every single detail but mentioning usage and your subsequent recovery and sobriety should make an impact on the review board. I would also highlight your experiences with the PAs and their impact/interactions with the patients.
