Choosing Letters of Recommendation

CASPA requires applicants to obtain 3 letters of reference/recommendation. How do you go about it? Suggestions? Questions? Put them here.

Choosing Letters of Recommendation

Post by kcarter4334 » Mon Feb 27, 2017 10:14 pm

Hi There!

I am getting ready to apply to PA school and am very torn as to who I should select to write my letters of recommendation. I have 6 sources: (1) a MD that I shadow, (2) a PA I have shadowed for 2 years, (3) a PT I work with on a daily basis, (4) the owner of the PT clinic I work at, (5) the captain of my EMS company, and (6) the chair of the athletic training department at my college.

I know that CASPA allows a max of 5 letters but after doing some research, most schools only want 3. What happens if I submit more than 3? Also, which sources should I ask to write the recommendation letters??

HELP!!

Thank you :)

Three copies of the recommendation letters will work for you.Choose one from a junior teacher or the current teacher who has known you for quite some time. Consider having one outside class, your club patron would fit in this case.If you have a coach or any adviser that would be great.
