Okay so I am currently almost done with my bachelor (less than 1 year) , I will be graduating with a B.S in Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology, I am stressed out deciding weather to go for the Physical therapy or physician assistant route. My passion is medicine and I wouldn't see myself working in anything else but that but I have very few experience in the field (1 month). My questions are:
1. Will I get in with a B.S in Sports medicine and 1 month working under a PA?
2. If so, what are my chances in getting accepted?
3. Does previous medical experience make a difference even if you have a GPA of 3.4+?
4. How soon should I start applying?
Thanks for the help

Re: Having doubts, please help
Previous medical experience and GPA are two totally different factors - completed unrelated. You need BOTH to get into PA school.
I seriously doubt that you would be accepted with only one month working under a PA. Most schools are looking for at least 500 hours of health care experience, and some as many as 3,000.
My advice:
1) spend some time shadowing PAs and some time shadowing physical therapists. I think you will find that these two careers are quite different. I suspect that after shadowing a while you will become clear about which one is for you.
2) If you decide to work toward becoming a PA, take your time. Visit our health care experience topic from the main page of the forum. Get a job in a health related field and begin steadily accruing hours of health care experience. It takes most people 2+ years to gain the needed experience. That seems like a long time, but believe me, it's not.
SUCCESS.
