Massage Therapy???

Post by chanmancut » Fri Aug 24, 2012 12:12 am

Hi everybody-wow this site is unbelievable. It has already answered so many of my questions and I have only been on the site for 10 minutes! I can't find any leads into whether or not PA schools accept Massage Therapy as HCE??? I know, it depends on the school. But wondering if anybody could tell me what their experience has been, if any?? Any information would be great! THX!!!!

From my vast studying programs and research I have found that YES, schools do look at Massage Therapy as HCE. It may not be as preferred as say a Paramedic, RN, EMT or RT, but none the less you have to study the flexion/extension and workings of muscle groups and such, and you talk to and build report with your patients. So yes, in a nutshell it is accepted at most programs. AACC in maryland where I applied counts massage therapist as "preffered" HCE, where they place CNA and others as lower.

I know this is just for this school but I feel that most schools follow this same pattern. Hope this helps!
