Health care experience

Post by JEspinal56 » Sat Oct 06, 2012 4:28 pm

Hi! I am a freshman in a community college and planing on to transfer to a 4 year college and major in biology. I am very interested in becoming a PA and I have 4 PA programs I am interested in. Of course they all require HCE, how can I start my HCE? so by the time I apply to Pa program I have a lot of experience. I am looking at volunteering in hospitals in the emergency department anything else I can do ?

I strongly recommend you focus on your grades, THEN get some experience. Yes, it takes a little longer that way, but 1) you will get better health care experiences/jobs, and 2) you need to do well in your courses to be competitive.

For health care experience ideas, check out our forum page on the topic - "Health Care Experience," particularly the thread "Creative Ways to Get Health Care Experience."

Good luck.
