Hello, I am currently wrapping up my freshman year and have decided I'd like to become a PA, rather than a PT. I've read on your posts that EMT looks really good when applying to programs and would love to have that experience. I'm in Arizona and from what I've read, I'll need and EMT-B certification to apply for this position. According to what I've read so far, these programs are 6 months to 2 years long...
I'm currently trying to get my AGEC-S (associate in sciences) to transfer from a CC to a Northern Arizona University, which as a PA program.
I reallllly want to apply to PA programs as soon as I finish my undergrad as I'm already 24 and will be 27 when I graduate with my bachelors =\. I don't want to have to work 2 extra years after my bachelors to gain experience and was hoping to get a job gaining healthcare experience in a year so that I have tons of experience by the time I apply to PA programs.
Do you have any recommendations? I'd be willing to take the EMT certifications now I'm just worried I won't be able to apply them to my bachelors and that taking on an EMT program will only set me back time-wise.
If you have any ideas on experience I can gain while doing my undergrad, that would be amazing! Thank you!
