What is a timeframe to get calls about interviews
What is a timeframe to get calls about interviews
I have applied to many schools (like 15), and I am very anxious to hear back from them. I understand that all schools have their own process, but I can't help but sit here getting very nervous to hear from them. Can someone enlighten me what a good timeline for when schools will contact you for interviews, send you rejection letters, or even decide who will get into their program.
Re: What is a timeframe to get calls about interviews
I am in a similar situation. Other forum posts show that people are getting interviewed and even accepted into programs that I applied to. If I don't get into a school I will be disappointed, but I think the wait is worse. Is there an appropriate protocol to find out where my application is in the selection process?
Re: What is a timeframe to get calls about interviews
They usually call the strongest applicants first - they want to nail down the "definitely admit" applicants before someone else does. As time progresses, they consider candidates who are less perfect. Don't take it personally - plenty of people get in later on. I would try to avoid contacting them to ask where you are in the process unless you have an offer from another school, at which it may make sense to call so you can say, "I have an acceptance to another school and I'm trying to decide if I am ready to accept it or not. Could you give me an idea if and when I may hear from your committee?"

I agree the wait is so much worse. It could be my impatience, but it also maybe my anxiousness to get my life going in the direction that I want. I hope you get a call or two interviewing you.

As always, great advice. This is my second year of applying, and I am excited to hear from schools. I definitely understand the "definitely admits." I just wish I could go back a few years to "redo" my academic path, but I am glad for who I am now. Thank you for all that you do Paul!!! You are a tremendous help to me through this process!!
