High-school is considered grades 7-11. Upon graduation, those who wish to continue their education apply into CEGEP, or Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel (loosely translates to General and Vocational College). Pre-university programs run for two years after which you apply to university programs. Upon acceptance to a university program, applicable CEGEP credits are "transferred" to the undergraduate degree thereby exempting the student from taking the classes over again. In my case, my 120 credit B.Sc in Biology had 30 credits knocked off before I even registered for my first university course.
Those 30 credits correspond to Organic I, Calculus I and II, General Chem I and II, General Bio I.
Not included in my university exemptions (despite having completed the credits in CEGEP) are General Bio II, Human anatomy/Physiology and a course in psychology.
My CEGEP transcript grades are in percentages, while the university grades are standard letter grades.
Thus, a significant portion of my standard prereqs have both percentage grades on my CEGEP transcript and are listed as "exempt" on my university transcript. Meanwhile, some prereqs only appear on my CEGEP transcript with a % and the rest are on my university transcript with a letter grade.......
SO!....How do I GPA
